The texts and readings are not mandatory, but they personalize the ceremony, can give it a solemn and warm touch and reflect your image.
Often, the future spouses choose two texts. One is read by a family member or a friend of the bride, and the other by a family member or friend of the groom. The mothers of the bride and groom are often chosen, but they also can be read by the maid of honour or the best man.
